I've been using BBEdit for at least 13 years, and probably longer.
I've always had a lot of confidence in Bare Bones, so I'm assuming and
hoping that what I've encountered with 10.0, which is the only painful
upgrade I can remember, has alternatives to what I'm encountering. The
PDF manual, however, is a bit impenetrable.

Today I was doing some editing and made the following notes. Virtually
everything I do frequently has apparently been broken, and it's really
throwing me off. Does anyone have ideas for how to get around the
following?

Can no longer re-edit a tag using Command-Option-M (I don't remember
the name of the command as I have not looked in the menu for many
years).

Adding an image via the new markup panel is very cumbersome:
(a) apparently no keyboard shortcut to invoke a file chooser dialog;
(b) no way to resize the file chooser dialog when it's at the bottom
of the screen--Apple's "fault" perhaps but would not have been an
issue in the old BBEdit edit link dialog;
(c) no size tags once a file is selected;
(d) apparently enforced alt text, inserted even if I delete it.

Disappearance of an easy way to do heading tags--the dialog with the
h1, h2, etc. buttons is apparently gone. This is a good example of how
everything in the new version takes more effort. I used to be able to
type Command-Control-H, then say Command-2, and I'd be set. Now I have
to type Command-M, TYPE 'h2', hit Return, and hit Return again. This
is more than twice as many steps, and one of them involves typing.

Inserting an 'id' and 'name' for an element is almost too much work to
bother with now. Even just the 'id' requires typing, unlike in the old
dialog.

Invoking LaunchBar to get a previously copied text string into the
markup panel dismisses it. Arrrrghh!

The Paragraph… command seems broken, as it seems "dumb" and only wraps
the entire selection in paragraph tags. This is what the next command
in the Block Elements submenu, Paragraph, is for, no?

When I select text and make a paragraph out of it (using the
Paragraph… command), the whole paragraph, including tags, used to be
selected. Now only the original text is selected, necessitating a
manual Select Paragraph to do another operation (I often add a
<blockquote>).

There is an extra line inserted at the bottom of the file. About
1,238,432 times in recent years I have been able to type Command-down
arrow and know that I'd arrived at the end of the last tag in the
document. No more. Very hard to unlearn. Why?
