On page 324 of the manual I read:
"To set the key equivalent for a menu command, locate and select the
entry for the command under the appropriate menu, click the Set Key
button, and type the desired keystroke."
A picture is shown of the new short slithery slidy preference pane,
which shows neither of the above-mentioned buttons, and reality
matches fiction -- no such buttons exist in the preference pane. No
clicking, right-clicking etc. gives any clue as to how the menu keys
are to be modified.
Having stared at the pane for a full two minutes without finding the
solution, I by chance hit the return key and hey presto the key
command becomes editable. Very economical once you know the trick,
but how is one to know the trick without reading the manual and how
is one to guess when the manual mixes fact with fiction?!
