really a great solution - I'd like to be able to see the content of
both files *at the same time*.

While I wouldn't mind the ability to show multiple files in panes, I'm not sure why opening a related file in a separate window isn't at least a workable solution. You can see the content of both files at the same time as long as the windows aren't on top of one another, after all, right?

What I usually use for this is a cheap utility called SizeUp which lets me resize windows of any app quickly with keystrokes--it's very easy to push a window onto any half or quarter of a screen. There's a similar program called "Moom" from Many Tricks Software, which is only $5 on the App Store. It's not quite the same thing, I know, but it ends up having pretty much the same effect in practice.

(I'd recommend one of those programs for people who miss better window arranging. I know it may not seem like a good replacement for BBEdit doing that natively, but it is, and of course it works with all apps, not just BBEdit. The BBEdit Window Arrange functionality was always useless to me anyway, since it didn't work with project windows!)
