You don't say whether go-here is your preferred behavior. Do you remember ever 
going to the Menus & Shortcuts panel and changing the assignment? If the prefs 
are very. very old, you might have made the change and not remembered it. 
Begging pardon, that's the likeliest explanation. Have your tried changing it 
back?

Preferences are assigned per-user, so it's not surprising that the fresh 
preferences given a new user may differ from a well-worn set.

I don't see why you'd need to wipe the preferences, and not simply change the 
assignment to what you want. Are you seeing any other misbehavior? What are you 
worried about?
