I have used several other editors and one feature that is really important
to me is called column mode (I think). If you have several lines of text
and you want to add some text at the same position on each line, you can
highlight the position, type the text you want to add, and it will insert
that text on multiple lines as you type.

So if I had the text:

the fox
the dog
the cat

I could highlight the position right after the space on all the lines. The
way you do that in BBEdit - as far as I can tell - is to hold the ALT key
and drag with your mouse. Then you could type "red " and it would add "red
" to all your lines:

the red fox
the red dog
the red cat

That doesn't work for me in BBEdit. It adds the "r" to all lines, but when
I type the "e" it adds it to only the first line.

I know that I can copy some text into the buffer and then paste it to
multiple lines, but that is definitely an extra step. Is there any way for
me to add text to multiple lines as I type, like you can do in UltraEdit
and other editors?
