Actually, Roland, I cannot see to get Rick's task accomplished. I think you 
can only get

red the fox
red the dog
red the cat

or

the fox red
the dog red
the cat red

with your trick. Could you please specify the settings of "Prefix/Suffix 
Lines" to get what Rick wanted. I think what Rick is asking for is 
something which is integrated in Sublime Text or Chocolat as "multiline 
cursor".
