Add another person with a double-click problem - I use a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0, and have the scroll button programmed to double click when pressed. It works everywhere but the new BBEdit 10.5 upgrade. >From the text below I see that BareBones knows about the problem, but it would be really helpful to find a workaround; if I'm like other BBEdit users, I'm all about shortcuts and handy helpers to get my (way too) complicated job done. Losing double click will be constant annoyance for me, and I'm sure no developers want to think that their customers are cussing them throughout the day...
