Hi Chaz,

I opened a new doc added one word. saved to my desktop. opened it in a browser. 
then added 1 space,  saved and it took 12 seconds before I could view it in the 
browser.

I also just downloaded this new version of bbedit and it does the same thing.

I haven't tried setting up a new user yet. will try that later.
