Hi, I'm just looking at doing a multi-file find/replace across a lot of websites to take a certain string out of .asp and .dwt (Dreamweaver template) files. In testing this I found that BBEdit would only find the string in some of the DWT files if they were actually open in BBEdit at the time. These files weren't open in any other applications and have the same file access rights as the files where BBEdit found the string without them having to be open.
I don't want to commit to a huge round of find/replacement across a lot of sites unless I'm confident it will work properly across the board. Any idea why this might be happening?
