There's a way to customize the HTML reformatting in BBEdit and that this
affects the way it outputs tags -- there's some kind of config file format
borrowed from Dreamweaver. This is mentioned in the manual on page 230, but
unfortunately there's absolutely no docs for it.

What you need to do is copy the "SourceFormat.profile" file that's in the
BBEdit application bundle to the location the manual mentions (you can find
it by selecting "Show Package Contents" when you right-click on the BBEdit
app, and looking in Contents/Resources). Then you can open the file and
edit it like an XML document.

Adobe provides documentation for this which can be helpful:

https://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/how/beginner/conduct/971208_beginner4.html

(As an aside, Bare Bones folks: consider putting a copy of the source
profile on your web site and guiding people a little more than you do here?
An awful lot of your users these days have probably never opened
Dreamweaver, and just saying "put a Dreamweaver source format profile in
this directory" is... mystifying.)

Oddly enough, I've used "Exchange Characters" on occasion to fix typos when
I transpose characters. It's not a command you'll be using constantly,
unless you're a very bad typist. :)
