No, I don't think a file-based list would be a good idea. Of course, it depends of your workflow, but I would prefer to see my recent replacements from another file in the next file, too. Mostly. Furthermore, if you remember that you did a similar search 2 hours ago, you’re going to look for it, and then "wth, which document was it?". And I don’t think a list of 30 or 50 entries is "really long".
