Hey Michelle, There's not a preference - nor is there an expert setting (unless it's a hidden one). Storage of recent search patterns is simple xml in the com.barebones.bbedit.plist file, so it's not hard to extract them if need be. I have asked the Devs in the past for enhancements to the search history such as more results and a search field. I've also asked for clippings to be made available in the Find Dialog. I've been shot down on these. :) If you can make a really good case to the Devs for a change please do, but remember that suggestions need to be sent to the support address (at the bottom of every list message). You can save the search and replace fields from the Find Dialog with AppleScript, so it is possible to do a number of things to make life more convenient now without waiting on the Devs. -- Best Regards, Chris -- This is the BBEdit Talk public discussion group.
