I had a project window that had been sitting untouched in my dock for about a week, with no unsaved files in it. I brought it up to the desktop; the sidebar was showing and I gave it focus. When I started using the back and forward buttons on my Logitech mouse, focus just moved up and down through the list items in a linear way. (The buttons are defined in the Logitech control panel as typing command-option-control [left or right] arrow. I may have chained those to other commands in BBEdit but if so I can't find them.) Then I made trivial changes to a few documents that were at random positions in the file list, and saved them. Then when I used the same mouse buttons, focus behaved differently: it jumped up or down in a non-linear way, going only to the files I had recently changed and saved, skipping all the others no matter how many times I clicked the mouse buttons. Seemed like useful behavior, similar to what Rutger was asking for. I wish I could remember where I set this behavior, if I did. -- This is the BBEdit Talk public discussion group.
