I actually just noticed this. That makes it a little more useful. But
there's one other thing I noticed that, in the 10 or 15 times I've used the
SFTP browser, I never actually realized: the browser *stays open *after
opening files. I could theoretically just leave it open and open the files
there. The only disadvantage is that it opens all the files in a separate
window, which is usually my "scratch window" where I just have a bunch of
random files open, so it gets a bit messy.

In fact, this has given me a new variation on the idea of allowing
directories to be opened: instead of putting the SFTP browser in a separate
window, why not just put it in the sidebar? That way, SFTP servers would
behave almost exactly like local projects, minus some features perhaps.
This seems like a logical way of doing it since the functionality is almost
all there. It would still most likely require quite a bit of rework, and
since Rich & crew probably have bigger fish to fry it's probably best
suited for a BBEdit 12 feature request.
