This is the biggest bugaboo with me with BBEdit.

With most editing-type apps, there is a degree of hysteresis when you
undo/redo several levels. The result is, when you are at a given level in
the undo history, toggling between undo and redo will allow the user to see
the change they made undo and redo before their eyes. With BBEdit, the
page will always scroll to the next change, and if it doesn't happen to be
in the viewport, you will not see the change occur. What is additionally
frustrating, is that this even occurs if you have only moved the cursor to
another part of the page, not even making a change. eg, If I make an edit
then move the cursor to a part of the page outside the viewport, then undo
the change, I am brought back to where the change was made. But if I redo,
rather than seeing the change go back in, I am immediately brought again to
where the cursor was before the undo.

I have pored over the preferences and have not found a setting that would
affect this behavior.

This is extremely frustrating, especially since undo/redo hysteresis seems
to be common among most editing apps, from many years back. I find BBEdit
to be am extremely high-caliber and user-helpful app otherwise, but this
seems like such a basic feature with most apps, I have to actually say the
BBEdit default behavior is "lame". I keep updating hoping that by now
BBEdit has caught on, but I still don't find the desired behavior.

Please make undo/redo hysteresis available on BBEdit.

Thank you kindly,
Kevin
