There may well be a simpler solution; but I’m pretty sure that you can just
open the sidebar of the window that you moved the document to (Command-O), and
then drag the document name from the sidebar of one window to another.
Alternatively, when you first move the document to a new window, you could
chose “Open in additional window” instead of “Move to new window” — then, when
you’re done with the second window, you can just close it, and the document
will still be open in the original window.
