I don't think it is a good idea to change the standard behaviour. I am afraid this might break other settings and surely I will forget that there is an attachment script in the save dialog after a couple of months. Now, if it were the other way round (using the script to save "unusual" files)... I know that it might be a challenging and even fun question, but I don't think you should waste any more time on this. Thanks for all your efforts.
