Great thanks that worked. For future reference I just needed to change the name 
of the worksheet so this is now working

tell application "BBEdit"
        activate
        set vFile to file of first item of (documents of first project window 
whose name is "Unix Worksheet.worksheet")
        open vFile opening in first project window with «class MdDa» and adding 
to recent list
end tell
