I have a large filesystem (>1TB) which I would
like duplicated and the duplicate made available
should this large filesystem get corrupted or files
accidentally deleted.

I am thinking to attach a mirror to the filesystem,
have the mirrors synced up, then break the mirror
and have it available should anything happen to the
primary mirror. I would like both mirrors be synced
up once a day.

EMC's Symmetrix has the ability for you to create
such a mirror - they call this feature BCV. Has
anyone implemented this solution at their site?

What about net applicances? Has anyone tried to
achieve what I am thinking about with net appliances?

I am also thinking about mirrored storage arrays to
achieve this.

I am interested to hear how other people have dealt
with this situation.

Many thanks in advance to all those who respond.

Thank you,
Sharon
