You can get a nice Soltek SL-NV400-L64 motherboard for $76, an Athlon XP
2500+ CPU for $90, a Kingston 512MB stick of PC2700 ram for $85, and a
Fortron ATX350GU power supply for $26.  That brings the total cost to
$277 to have a nice, fast computer with plenty of ram.  (All of these
prices include shipping from Newegg.com.)

You might also need a new video card, in which case, I suggest a
Transcend ATI Radeon 7000 for $35.

Alternatively, you might be able to make do with your old clunker and a
PCI IDE conroller (Promise allegedly makes good ones for about $20).
