Hello,

Apologies for being so slow about applying and testing this patch.
Now that I had some time, I tried to be quite methodical about it. I
hadn't used iperf before, so I'm happy to have heard about this nice
tool.

Here are my results, 4311, HD dv2020 laptop:

WITHOUT the patch in this thread:
1M: 726 Kbits/sec
2M: 337 Kbits/sec
5.5M: 162 Kbits/sec
6M: 151 Kbits/sec
9M: 168 Kbits/sec
11M: 173 Kbits/sec
12M: 185 Kbits/sec
18M: 174 Kbits/sec
24M: 152 Kbits/sec
36M: 209 Kbits/sec
48M: 224 Kbits/sec
54M: 8.03 Kbits/sec

WITH the patch in this thread:
1M: 752 Kbits/sec
2M: 1.34 Mbits/sec
5.5M: 2.95 Mbits/sec
6M: 3.14 Mbits/sec
9M: 4.90 Mbits/sec
11M: 4.71 Mbits/sec
12M: 6.80 Mbits/sec
18M: 8.85 Mbits/sec
24M: 10.2 Mbits/sec
36M: 12.3 Mbits/sec
48M: 5.11 Mbits/sec
54M: 72.1 Kbits/sec

So it seems my "sweet spot" is at 36M. My "real world" results are
that I was able to transfer a 350 MB video file from my desktop to my
laptop over wireless in 3.5 minutes. ;-)
This is just about equivalent to the rates I get under Windows.

Good times...

I have one more test to try... I am strangely never able to associate
with the wifi router in my girlfriend's apartment, however it is a
crappy old D-Link B-series router. I'll try it next time I get a
chance. (I've long suspected the reason is that she lives in an
apartment building, and there are something like 20 other APs in the
vicinity, so potentially a lot of wifi traffic interfering. However,
I am always able to connect using Windows.)
