Hi all,
I've the same card, about the same AP and I've tried the same
combined patch for 2.6.20.2 ;)

I've this data with iwconfig :
# iwconfig eth1
eth1 IEEE 802.11b/g ESSID:"blotzheim" Nickname:"Broadcom 4318"
Mode:Managed Frequency=2.437 GHz Access Point:
00:14:BF:64:BD:38 Bit Rate=24 Mb/s Tx-Power=19 dBm
RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
Security mode:open Link Quality=38/100 Signal level=-67 dBm Noise
level=-66 dBm Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:10 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
The AP is in a different room of the computer but the connection is
really stable and have a good speed for my internet use ;)

Thanks for this script, I've just done this tests between my computer
and a local server connected to the AP with 100 MBits/sec wired
connection:
# ./netperf.sh eth1 home
iIwconfig rate set to 6 Mbs
Transmit rate: 3.68 3.79 3.73 3.83 3.85 Mbits/sec
Receive rate: 10.1 11.6 11.3 11.6 11.3 Mbits/sec
iIwconfig rate set to 9 Mbs
Transmit rate: 4.98 4.92 5.10 5.14 5.14 Mbits/sec
Receive rate: 10.9 10.7 12.0 12.0 12.4 Mbits/sec
iIwconfig rate set to 11 Mbs
Transmit rate: 5.17 5.20 5.12 5.08 5.05 Mbits/sec
Receive rate: 9.77 9.48 9.83 9.44 9.47 Mbits/sec
iIwconfig rate set to 18 Mbs
Transmit rate: 7.32 5.35 7.84 4.99 5.78 Mbits/sec
Receive rate: 10.8 11.6 10.5 10.7 13.5 Mbits/sec
iIwconfig rate set to 24 Mbs
Transmit rate: 7.65 8.56 10.4 8.72 10.1 Mbits/sec
Receive rate: 13.7 15.6 15.5 15.1 14.4 Mbits/sec
iIwconfig rate set to 36 Mbs
Transmit rate: 5.06 2.51 3.11 4.84 3.88 Mbits/sec
Receive rate: 11.5 5.97 11.7 12.8 11.4 Mbits/sec
iIwconfig rate set to 48 Mbs
Transmit rate: 4.15 1.80 2.96 4.30 0.64 Mbits/sec
Receive rate: 12.5 11.0 10.1 10.0 5.79 Mbits/sec
Iwconfig rate reset to 24 Mbs
The better rate in my configuration is clearly 24 Mbits/sec :)
Thanks for all your good work on this driver !!
