Hi everyone,
i am using the git wireless-dev tree for both the bcm43xx and the
bcm43xx-mac80211 drivers.
i have both compiled as modules and i am using the 3.130.xxx firmware
for the bcm43xx and the new 4.theonthereadme for the bcm43xx-mac80211.
I get both drivers to work correctly with open system, wep, wpa and
wpa2 (i tested all theese) but i have a problem negotiating the ipv6
address:
with the bcm43xx softmac i simply modprobe the module, ifconfig wlan0
up the card, set the wep cypher and i get immediately the ipv6 address
- i have this for the internal ipv6 net at university - and i can use
it with no problems.
With the mac80211 version of the driver i can use the ipv4 link with no
problems, excellent stability and rates, but i cannot get the ipv6
address - the Scope: Global one - that i get immediately with the
softmac driver.
Also, i noticed my syslog is fill with:

May 18 16:01:35 electricmove kernel: wlan0: duplicate address detected!
May 18 16:03:18 electricmove kernel: wlan0: duplicate address detected!
May 18 16:04:44 electricmove kernel: wlan0: duplicate address detected!
May 18 16:05:34 electricmove kernel: wlan0: duplicate address detected!
May 18 16:07:32 electricmove kernel: wlan0: duplicate address detected!
May 18 16:08:24 electricmove kernel: wlan0: duplicate address detected!
May 18 16:10:19 electricmove kernel: wlan0: duplicate address detected!
May 18 16:11:45 electricmove kernel: wlan0: duplicate address detected!
-a lot of lines snipped-

and it can go on for hours: sometimes the ipv6 is negotiated after 2 or
3 "duoplicate address" messages, sometimes it will take the whole day,
sometimes it will never work.
I could not relate this to the number of other wireless clients on the
net, as with the bcm softmac one i _always_ got the ipv6 complete
address after the first try.
I also tryed forcing the interface this way:

ip link set wlan0 dynamic off && ip link set wlan0 dynamic on

but that makes no difference.
Any help would be highly appreciated, and i have no problem providing
more debug - once i know what to write - or even ssh access to my laptop
- ibook g4 with a bcm4306 card,

0001:10:12.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g
Wireless LAN Controller (rev 03)

for any of the devs.
Thanks,
bye
