I am not wanting to use the ndiswrapper. I only included that information in the chance that there might be some information from it could be useful.

For the information you need and some more...
Ubuntu 7.04
HP dv9000
AMD dual core thing.

This is from the firmware in the Ubuntu dist.
dmsg | grep bcm
[ 9122.176000] bcm43xx: no version for "struct_module" found: kernel tainted.
[ 9122.180000] bcm43xx driver
[ 9122.188000] bcm43xx: Unsupported 80211 core revision 13

[ 9122.876000] bcm43xx: MAC suspen d failed
[ 9122.912000] bcm43xx: MAC suspend failed

If I rmmod bcm43xx the system will freeze most of the time.

I have another firmware version I have used I can load also.

uname -r
2.6.20-16-generic

I will provide any more information you need and will be more than happy to do any testing needed.

Thanks

At an absolute minimum, we need the output of 'dmesg | grep bcm' after you have modprobed bcm43xx.

No one here can or will help you with ndiswrapper. We have devoted much effort to wiping out the
need for that abomination!!
