A closing note of this thread: - I have returned the computer, so ...
With a lot of work, Fedora8-test2 did run, with some exceptions - usb,
cardreader,
wasn't supported.
Did complain and had a lot of trouble with the touchpad. There was clearly
something wrong with the drivers. Didn't come around to check the Broadcom
device. The install problems, the sata driver, ...and a bunch of other things,
seem linked to the NVIDIA chipsets. It may not be supported unless info
is released from NVIDIA. I have seldom come across anything that has
caused as many problems to get running....
