If you also meant this to be an answer for the regdom lockout, then all I can say is that I haven't read that on the web, it's what I am seeing. With the bcm43xx driver (that works to some extent), I can switch to channels 1-13, but not 14, even if the regulatory domain is set to Japan. It gives "Operation not permitted". Possibly this is Asus-specific (and not present on other 4318/02-based cards), and maybe it is only present in EU versions (so US and JP versions are identical).
BTW, what's the ieee80211_regdom code for the EU? Is 64 EU or JP?
