Forgot to mension that rfkill-led is behaving as I described earlier, 
and has been for as long as I can remember. I don't have specific kernel 
versions, sorry.

It is always blue, as in wlan active, except if I disable wireless in 
knetworkmanager. Killswitch doesn't affect the led.
