Dears, Here's another view. We are sitting on the science behind why voodoo works. I know. I grew up in south Louisiana where my father (who was 1/4 Cherokee) always burned his fingernail trimmings. He always buried his spit when working in the garden with his hoe. I was four or five and asked him why. "Because if someone gets some of your essence they can exert power over you." With Steiner's remedies we put this ancient wisdom into the realm of science. But in our terminology of BD and Biodynamic we have encapsulated it into a cult. It doesn't need to be in a cult. It needs to be common knowledge. The world is now big enough for that. We should make it so. Thanks Steve for helping to get me to read Tiller's book on human consciousness. Tiller puts a lot of things into the language of modern physics and mathematics, though I must fault his technique of launching into terminology such as "conjugate four space" with no reader preparation. The debates about 10 space string stheory are raging and Tiller presents these as nothing, no debate. How many, like myself, are conversant with 10 dimensional theory? So what does the normal reader get? Confused. Tiller is not a good teaching text, though from my reading he is on top of what he has investigated. Like I say we are sitting on the science that makes voodoo work. Few understand its physical rules as yet, but boy does it work! This should be free and in the realm of everyday science, not the property of an obscure "biodynamic" cult that keeps its inner knowledge a mystery, wrapped up in formulas that you must stir this for an hour and this other thing for twenty minutes. Glen, you can continue to address matters as biodynamic. But realize this is cult terminology that grew up after the death of Steiner, who deserves recognition as one of the grestest of modern scientists. If we drop the terminology and merge with the general body of scientific literature we will end up giving Steiner his due, and wholism along with it all. And we will remove the cloud of mystery that currently sets people off when then they encounter "biodynamics." I realize the disaffected are the first to decry "biodynamic." And fighting BD is a dead issue, just as beating a parent's corpse is. But really there is no future for such exclusive terminology. Please, let's look forward and go mainstream. Best, Hugh Lovel
