Deborah, If you make an infusion of papaya leaf, or even use raw papaya, bathe it on or rub it in. This will dissolve the Rhus tox poison as it is a digestive enyme (papain). During the poison ivy season I look for wild touch-me-not (jewel weed, annual) and mash its stemas to rub on the affected areas. Same, principle, digestive enzyme.
