For those of us who don't have the benefit of a cow, what do you think is the best form of manure to add to a compost pile?
My local zoo offers poop from its herbivore clients, for example - what do you think of using that? Depends what they've been fed, I suppose - what questions should I be asking the zookeeper? What about horse manure from the local riding stables? Is is true that cow manure from an intensive farm should not be used, or do the workings of BD heal what has been done to it?
