Two years is about right for holsteins. That was when we sent ours to 
market.

The meat is not fatty like the usual beef breeds. Ours were left to 
range all year, fed hay in the winter, never had a bit of grain,  and 
NEVER any antibiotics.

I still say the beef was better than any I've ever bought and I knew 
what went into the meat. There are people who will pay well for knowing.
