I made some nettles a few days ago. Instead of letting it rot down in a
barrel, I put it in a compost tea brewer with the air going. It transforms
into a very different substance in this way. It developes a nice green
colour yet it doesnot stink. It has an elegant bouquet with hints of oak and
peach melon with a nice finish...oh that is the cab sauvagnon!!! Really
though, a very nice tea is the end result. A very interesting side effect of
having the tea made under these aerobic conditions is that after the leaves
dissolve the stems remain viable and start to grow again. A careful look
revealed beautiful white rootlets growing from the stems at every scion of
the stalk and the new growth with the leaves.
Today I potted up about twenty new nettles plants and I have as much as I
could tolerate to do tommorrow. Nice surprise, nettles has been slow to get
established here... SStorch
