Steve, many thanks for your thoughts. I agreed with your earlier position on Iraq, but mainly because Saddam Hussein is a megalomaniac and one cannot 'negotiate' with such a man, anymore than one could with either Hitler or Stalin. There is no doubt in my mind, however, that such people offer a vehicle for the darker spiritual forces that work behind the scenes in human affairs.
What I really meant, however, was a battle between ideas. Such a battle should not ever descend into physical conflict, although it can do.
