Allan, Why do you persist in your fear mongering with this thread? What makes you think that your one experience of losing a job offering based upon one experience of someone looking up your track record on the internet is a common one to be experienced by folks contributing to this list?
How many people are really out there scanning these records for inflammatory remarks made on a bd ag list? There is so much information overload, the government can't even find real terrorists, let alone the threat of someone putting some shit in a cow horn and spraying it homeopathically on a field somewhere. Get real will you? All your inuendo about me being out of touch with reality is really too typical Allan. You are your own worst enemy, not the government or some stupid bureaucrat denying you a job. I have quit jobs before because of my so called ideals. Does this make me an idealist? I think it is your attitude which probably is what loses jobs for you and not some nonsense found in a search engine. Besides, as you yourself pointed out, it doesn't matter what you really say online, someone can find you "associated with views that are the opposite of what yours truly are." So what is the point of password protected archives? I suspect that if you were to put this whole group into a room together, the voices most often 'heard' on this list would be the same ones to speak most often in that room in person.
