Subject: Exclusion Project
Commencing Monday July 7 2003 an exclusion project for serrated tussock,
african lovegrass and rabbits will come into operation in the Dalgety
area of NSW.
The exclusion zone is a 4 kilometre radius circle centred 0.75 kms
north-north-west of the confluence of Wullwye Creek and the Snowy River,
Dalgety NSW.
Exclusion will be by natural earth healing methods.
Primary project objectives are:
Elimination of these plants within the zone by 7 July 2006 with a
significant reduction (60%) in the first year.
Reduction of the rabbit population to a level commensurate with the twin
requirements of ongoing sustainability of the natural food chain and the
improvement of crop and pasture yields.
