"in the past 10 years, focusing on diseases
in winegrape vines, have accomplished more in that
short period of time than anyone in the history of
viticulture."
Greg,
You have made claims for a long time about the results of your programs.
I live in Sonoma County and have extensive work with vineyards in all the north coast counties, as you well know.
There has been enough time now, since you started to make claims, for your progarms to have a fair chance to work. To my knowledge there is not a single person, with the exception of Mr. Topolos, that is willing to say that they have had positive results from your work.
Would you be so kind as to honor us with names of who it is that is deriving benefit from your work so we can determine for ourselves that there is merit to your work?
What about Wente?
I had worked for many years at Wente vineyards when you started there. I was in favor of you being hired and initiating a "biodynamic" program. I thought it would be a learning experience for me and for everybody involved. However, in my opinion your work produced no discernible results during your tenure. I had a 4 year relationship with the field you worked and knew her very well. I was the person who cover cropped, composted, foliar fed, fertigated and remineralized that field prior to, and during, the time that you had your program in affect.
If you have any proof on these opinions being innacurate in any way, please share them with us.
Maybe you have some superior status when compared with the viticulturist "in history" as you state...but in this time and space today, there are lots and lots of vine men and women who grow wonderful wine, are certified organic, show respect to life in the ecosystem, have improved the health of the soil and vines, and have very good economic returns.
