----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: KGK Message 2 in Discussion Hi Manoj! A static variable is never associated with a class instance, but always a class type. Infact, the value is shared across class instances. On top of that, statics are one of the "application roots" in context of garbage collection and hence will be cleared only when the application shuts down. So, they will retain their values. Application object is a similar construct but within an entity called WebApplication, and maintained by the WebServer process. Statics, on the other hand, are managed by the runtime for you.
