----------------------------------------------------------- From: Mrinal Message 7 in Discussion Hi Sujay , I will tell u a simple solution to your problem , see u r filling a datagrid from a given dataset , at present u r getting all db records in the given grid , now u may or may not go for pagination , that's totally up to u , but what u need to do , if u want refreshed records in your datagrid based of certain condition then change your datasource i.e. DataSet / DataView and rebind it , now when u change your datasource , there are two ways either u reconnect to database run an appropriate query and get the result into the grid but that will be expensive , another way is u create a DataView object corresponding to a given DataSet and do all modifications and changes that you want to and keep rebinding it , For e.g: DataSet ds = new DataSet(); DataView dv = new DataView(); dv.Table = ds.Tables[0]; dv.RowFilter = "colname='Value'"; dv.Sort = "ColumnName" ; now based on the logic keep rebinding the grid and also autopostback won't help you because that's in case u want immediate reaction to your event for e.g : TextChange in a text Box Hope it helps , Get back to me in case of any issues , Regards , Mrinal ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/BDOTNET/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
