You need to use Parse and ToString methods of Int32 class. Here is the example:
static void printthis()
{
string a = "3";
int b1 = 5;
int a1 = Int32.Parse(a);
string b = b1.ToString();
int sum = a1 + b1; //return 8
string concat = String.Concat(a, b); //return "35"
}
