----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: RupreetSingh Message 3 in Discussion Hi! Well for encrypting the passwords in ASP.NET , the best way is to make a hash for that password and store it in the database. You can use MD5 Hashing Algo or SHA Hashing Algo (Check out System.Security.Cryptography namespace for more). And when user enters his password, you again make a hash for it and compare the value in the database. But mind it!! You also cannot dicipher the hash made for that password and get the original password. Other way is to encrypt it and store it in database and if you want to know or recover the password, you can decrypt it. Check out this in MSDN! ms-help://MS.VSCC/MS.MSDNVS/cpguide/html/cpconcryptographyoverview.htm Hope it helps!!
