Hi! 


Well for encrypting the passwords in ASP.NET , the best way is to make a hash for that 
password and store it in the database. You can use MD5 Hashing Algo or SHA Hashing 
Algo (Check out System.Security.Cryptography namespace for more). And when user enters 
his password, you again make a hash for it and compare the value in the database. But 
mind it!! You also cannot dicipher the hash made for that password and get the 
original password. 


Other way is to encrypt it and store it in database and if you want to know or recover 
the password, you can decrypt it.
