can have your own logic / algorithm for encrypting the 
password..
if you 
want to recover the old password (in case if you are keeping the encrypted 
passward in db) then better to use SHA1 algo.. provided in .NET 
Framework
otherwise if you want to use only one way ecryption.. 
use MD5 or other algos... inbuilt in .NET
