----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Rlabh Message 9 in Discussion Hi Pradeep, When you compile C or C++ code, an exe is created and when you run the exe, entire exe gets executed. Please note that Compilation is already done and there is no intermediary compilation here. In .NET when you compile a .NET application, an exe will be created but this will be in Intermediate language and requires .NET framework to be executed. When .NET framework is installed, CLR will load this and JIT will convert the IL code to machine language code that gets excuted. You can check this IL code by using ILDASM tool that comes along with .NET. Also, please note that CLR is a platform specific and JIT will convert IL code to that machine specific code. Hope this is clear to you.
