Ideally, your machine that has SQL Server will usually have EM installed. You can use this snap-in and connect to the MSDE database on another sever and manage it thorugh the familiar interface of EM from the SQL Server machine. Another option is to use OSQL. This is the only tool that comes along with MSDE and can be used to interact with MSDE in the absence of EM.
