Hi Srinivas,   I think you are trying to compare this with Oracles IN OUT Parameter... 
If yes, then unlike in Oracle World where an Ouput parameter cannot accept an input 
value and vice versa ... Here in SQL Server you can mark a parameter as output and 
then pass an input value to the same. See the below code for example. It illustrates 
how SQL Server can have IN OUT Params ...   Create Proc Vin_Test (@Param Int OUTPUT)
As
BEGIN
 Select @Param
 Set @Param=10
END
GO Declare @ParamOut Int
Set @ParamOut=1
Exec Vin_Test @ParamOut OUTPUT
Select @ParamOut
