Just because you have a primary key, it does not mean that the column will auto
increment. In SQL Server, you need to configure a column as IDENTITY for it to auto
increment. For example: CREATE TABLE testTable ( colA INT IDENTITY (1, 1) NOT
NULL PRIMARY KEY, colB VARCHAR(100) ) GO INSERT INTO testTable VALUES ('test
record') SELECT @@IDENTITY GO You can either re-create your table with the new
identity column or use the Enterprise Manager tool that comes with SQL Server to do it
graphically. HTH, Srinivas Sampath MVP-SQL Server http://www32.brinkster.com/srisamp
