Hi , Ok see the reason for ur problem is pretty simple : First of all how does an
asp.net page get processed : Request goes to IIS , now IIS can't itself process or
render any .net related page , it needs aspnet_wp.exe to process any .net related page
, for which there's something called as aspnet_isapi.dll , that works in process with
IIS , relevant entries are there in IIS Configuration , but it needs appropriate http
handler for a given page so in short aspnet_isapi.dll helps in recognizing which is
the appropriate http handler , when request is taken up by http runtime . Now let's
come to the crux , ur iis should always be configured before installing vs.net else
aspnet_isapi.dll doesn't get registered and it doesn't know what to do with aspx ,
asmx kind of pages , in case it is not done , then these are the ways out : 1. go
by akshit's method and run aspnet_regiis -i , which is a utility to register
aspnet_isapi.dll 2. explicitly register aspnet_isapi.dll in registry - regsvr32
aspnet_isapi.dll and ur things will be up end running , Regards , Mrinal
