Hi,
get the basics right. on page_load, you
can telling "alert me when the msg when button is clicked". So, u get a alert
when button is clicked. ur application does know that it must alert when u dont
enter anything in the textbox right..... get down to understand things, b4 u
jump to coding...

Thanks Saravana for the fast response.
I added it in the page_load event. as u said, it fires
first time, but when i enter a value and click on the button,
though the value is there in the text box, it prompts me again
"Pls enter a
value".
