If you use an aggregate function then you need to use a group by clause to select 
other values like ...   select tab1col1, tablcol2, tab2col1,count(tab3.id) from tab1, 
tab2,tab3 where tab1.col1 = tab2.col2 and tab1.col1= tab3.col1  Group by tab1col1, 
tablcol2, tab2col1   Something on these lines ...   HTH, Vinod Kumar
