Hi Balaji,   Unless, you present a more detailed code, its difficult to give any 
useful solution. You can try adding the event thru designer, instead of directly 
typing it in code window, (though there is nothing special in this method, u can 
atleast be sure that everything is defined).   Start fresh, add a text box control and 
goto property windows and click event icon at the top .. and then choose a event from 
the list and double click -- now you willbe in code window and write anything u want 
there ...    if textbox is the only control on the form .. then try running after 
adding another textbox .. just to shift focus .. try this and let us know. . if it
