Hi Anandraj,   Since you want to retain the state of the check boxes, use server side 
check boxes with view state eneabled.   Its very much possible to manipulate these 
check boxes in client side script. Once page is rendereded just have a look at the id 
value generated for these checkboxes by .NET framework.(It would be <your 
datagridname>__ctl<rownumber>_<checkbox name>)   These ids will remain same as long as 
you keep your datagrid and checkbox name same.You can manipulate the checkboxes using 
these ids.   Thanks Gags
